Subject: Fantastic Tour!
Hampton is one of the best venues to see a show. Gotta love the small space and general admission, and Hampton VA is pretty nice. This was the first East Coast Post-coma show and they ripped it up! Second set was killer and, in my opinion , one of the absolute BEST Scarlet->Fires ever!! I'm talking top 5. No lie. And I don't usually rate Black Peter but this one was OUTSTANDING! All three nights were great as was the entire spring tour. Actually 1987 was smoking hot the whole year. Enjoy!

Subject: full show on TWO discs
if you remove the 3 minutes of quiet tuning at the beginning of set two-- the whole set fits on one disc, with ONE second to spare!
you won't lose any of sugar mag because they pause before they start the song...
this show takes me back to the days when i was getting my first tapes--
the sound quality is excellent!
thanks for uploading this show at this legendary venue that is now referred to as the Spaceship...

Subject: Exactly!
Jerry IS too quiet in the mix, at least until Scarlet~Fire. That, unfortunately also is exactly how it sounded that night. I usually thought their shows were not loud enough, you had to wait 'til the second set and hope that the soundman would finally crank up the volume some. But what makes the Scarlet~Fire and the whole rest of the second set so killer is that Jerry seemed to take affairs into his own hands. He kicked in the volume and crushes the rest of the tunes. The band soared! Black Peter is amazing! Short show, but boy was he back!!

Subject: The first night by a nose...
The first night of this very strong and consistent run (both trademarks of '87) was my favorite, especially the Sugar Mag->Scarlet->Fire Estimated pre-drums sequence. Best bumper sticker sold in parking lot: "GIVE HIM FIVE - HE'S STILL ALIVE", in honor of Jerry's first East Coast tour since his serious illness in '86. Hampton was such a great venue - the only general admission seating on the East Coast, and a very tolerant vibe inside, for those who wished to indulge. The band seemed to love it, too.
